News Nearby: Man Crashes Car Into His Designated Driver
Police say a drunk motorist crashed into his brother, who was driving to the bar to give him a ride back to their Presto home.
A case of brotherly love led to a car accident in which police say a man crashed into his would-be designated driver sibling who was on his way to pick him up at a Bridgeville bar.
Police said Darrell Lanham was drinking heavily at when workers there kicked him out for being obnoxious late Wednesday night. A friend who was with him at the bar called his brother, Noah Lanham, who then left to pick him up.
But Darrell Lanham, 26, of Collier, immediately left the bar and started driving home, police said. That’s when police say he started driving on the wrong side of Charlet Street in Bridgeville and crashed into his brother shortly after midnight Thursday.

Darrell Lanham continued driving his car onto Prestley Road, police said, before he careened off the road, went through a front yard and crashed into a retaining wall. Police said he tried to run away from the scene, but officers were able to quickly arrest him.
He was charged with drunken driving, driving without a license and several other motor vehicle violations.

Meanwhile, no good deed goes unpunished. Noah Lanham, 28, of Collier, also was cited for driving on a suspended license and apparently didn’t have car insurance, police said.
Neither brother was injured, but both cars sustained heavy damage. Darrell Lanham was taken to a local hospital to have his blood-alcohol level tested.
