Public Welcomed to Pittsburgh Healthcare Symposium

A panel of experts will examine access, delivery and costs of healthcare in the contemporary American system at a symposium, “Healthcare In Our Community: Possibilities and Realities,” being held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the University Club, 123 University Place, Oakland. Audience participation in the discussion will be encouraged.

The panel will discuss income disparities in quality and delivery of healthcare; the capability of government programs such as Medicaid or Medicare equalize access to care; and ways to improve the system.

The free, informational symposium is sponsored by Allegheny County Department of Human Service’s Allegheny Link to Aging and Disability Resources (The Link); APPRISE (Pennsylvania’s Health Insurance Assistance Program); and the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Pharmacy and School of Social Work.
