Rhode Island Freeze Warning In Effect Thursday Night
Frost and freezing conditions could kill crops and other sensitive plants, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Temperatures will plummet Thursday night, jeopardizing plants and plumbing.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for Rhode Island starting 11 p.m. Thursday.
Temperatures were expected to plummet to as low as 25 degrees and the "Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing," the National Weather Service said.

"Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold," the National Weather Service warned.
The freeze warning was to remain in effect until 9 a.m. Friday, when temperatures were predicted to rise to 60 degrees.

Friday night was expected to remain clear with a low of 45 degrees and Saturday will be partly sunny with a high of 65, according to the National Weather Service.
