Wind Advisory Issued For Rhode Island And Massachusetts

The National Weather Service warned of winds gusting up to 50 mph.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Rhode Island and nearly all of Massachusetts.

The advisory remains in effect until at least 1 a.m. Wednesday for the Ocean State and all of Massachusetts except for the eastern slopes of the Berkshires and Northern Worcester County.

The National Weather Service warned of 10 to 20 mph winds with gusts of up to 50 mph.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects," the National Weather Service cautioned. "Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result."

The National Weather Service also recommended remaining vigilant on the roads.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles," the National Weather Service advised. "Use extra caution."

The strong winds will be accompanied by a high temperature Tuesday of 29 degrees and a low Tuesday night of around 22.

Wednesday's high is 32 dropping to a low of 21 Wednesday night, when less than a half inch of snow may fall.
