Sidewalk Sales, 'Slave Trade' Tour in Downtown Bristol This Weekend
The annual Columbus Day sideway sale is this weekend, Oct. 11-14, in Bristol.

Merchants in Bristol are offering their annual fall sidewalk sale this Columbus Day weekend.
While doing some shopping, you may also want to take a walking tour of Linden Place Mansion in downtown Bristol; it will focus specifically on Bristol’s DeWolf Family and their involvement in the Slave Trade.
Expect to see plenty of bargains on Hope, Thames, Bradford, State and other adjacent streets starting Friday, Oct. 11 and running through Monday, Oct. 14.

“Enjoy the great fall weather and come enjoy a relaxing lunch by the water before venturing out for all the great deals,” said Lynn Shaw, owner of Harbor Bath and Body Shop at the Thames Street Landing and a member of the Bristol Merchants Association.
Merchants will have sidewalk displays set up from approximately 10 am to 6 pm each day.

The guided tour will take place on Saturday from 10 am to noon. It starts at Linden Place and ends at ends at the historic DeWolf Tavern, once a waterfront warehouse. Reservations are required because the tour is limited to 15 people.
