Health Dept.: Bristol Town Beach Safe for Swimming

The state Department of Health is lifting its closure recommendation after two days and reports bacteria levels are now at safe levels.

BRISTOL, RI—The state Department of Health has recommended Bristol Town Beach be reopened to swimming, two days after it called for a closure due to high bacteria counts.

The most-recent water quality tests show that bacteria levels are back to safe levels. All licensed beaches are now open and safe for swimming across Rhode Island.
