Here are some things to know about today in and around Barrington:

  • Plenty of sunshine with a high temperature around 49 degrees.
  • Christmas at Blithewold holds the first of three traditional holiday story times today at 4 pm in the beautifully decorated living room.  Classic holiday stories will be read. Drop in for one story time or come to all three on Dec. 4, 11, and 18. Free with a regular mansion admission.
  • The Bristol 4th of July Committee holds a macaroni and meatball supper today at 5 pm at St. Mary's Church Parish Center, 330 Wood St. Tickets are $10 with children 5 and under for free. 
  • Roger Williams University continues its Great Films series on Wednesday with the Stanley Kubrick’s epic film, ”2001: A Space Odyssey.” It will be shown in the Global Heritage Hall Building, Room G01, 1 Old Ferry Road, Bristol.
  • The Federalist Society is hosting a debate on the Second Amendment – the right to bear arms -- at the Roger Williams University School of Law, 10 Metacom Ave., Bristol at 1 pm. This event is open to the public. 
  • Mt Hope High School Vocal Ensemble performs a Holiday Concert at 7 pm on the main floor of the George Hail Library, 530 Main St., Warren.
