Here's What's Happening This Weekend

Here are some things to do this weekend, Nov. 22-24, in and around Bristol and Warren:
The Mt. Hope High School Masqueraders present four performances of a comedy that deals with ladies whose lives revolve around the often outlandish doings of a local garden club. The show, “The Girls of the Garden Club,” debuts tonight in the performing arts center at 199 Chestnut St., Bristol. Shows continue on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $7 for students.
The Bristol Merchants Association sponsors its 12th annual Holiday Preview for two nights, Friday and Saturday, from 5 to 9 pm each day. More than two dozen shops and stores will set out luminaries to mark the way around downtown Bristol for shoppers and window-shoppers alike. Store owners will treat you to food and drink and offer two Snowflake Raffle tickets for each $25 purchase on the first night of the preview.

Farmstead Mercantile, 384 Market St., Warren, holds its first “Cheers! With Santa” on Friday at 6 pm, featuring Michael Reilly, a traditional “Golden Age” Santa who is sure to transport you back to your childhood. Mingle with Santa among the store’s holiday wonderland.
The Barrington Baptist Church, 25 Old County Road, hosts a fundraiser for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines on Saturday at 2 pm. Enjoy authentic Philippine food and dessert. Monetary donations of any amount will be accepted. All donations will go directly to The Children’s Shelter of Cebu in Cebu City Philippines.

Ballet Prestige in Barrington presents its first performance of the classic ballet, “The Nutcracker” on Sunday at 3 pm in the McCulloch Center for the Arts at St. Andrew’s School, 63 Federal Road, Barrington. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children. You can buy tickets online or at the door. A second performance of the ballet is next Sunday, Dec. 1.
