
Nineteen violent crimes were reported in Warren last year, according to statistics released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The 2012 number is up by 1 from the previous year's total of 18 violent crimes.
The FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report includes information submitted by local law enforcement agencies. The information is compiled and released to the public in the fall of the year that follows the reported year.

Violent crime, as defined by the report, includes murder and non-negligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.
In 2012, Warren reported two forcible rapes, 7 robberies and 10 aggravated assaults.
In addition to violent crimes, Warren reported 281 property crimes in 2012 – up by 31 from the previous year.
There were 71 burglaries, 202 instances of larceny or theft and 8 motor vehicle thefts. There also were 4 cases of arson.
