Make a Wreath; Share a Book; Be Entertained for Linden Place

Here are some things to know about today, Dec. 6, in and around Bristol and Warren:

  • Cloudy with showers and a high temperature of around 55 degrees. 
  • Learn to make a holiday wreath at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum in Bristol at 10 am. Garden manager Gail Read and interpretive horticulturist Kristin Green will share design ideas and assembly tips that allow you to create a one-of-a kind holiday wreath. Bring pruners and gloves if you have them for this hands-on workshop.
  • Take a break from your busy day and share a book at “Friday Favorites: A Book Sharing Group,” in the Children's Room of the George Hail Library in Warren at 11 am.
  • A fireside fundraiser with pianist and singer Michael DiMuicci ushers in the Linden Place’s Museum’s holiday season at 7:30 PM in the ballroom of Linden Place. He will sing a mix of classical numbers, Christmas  standards, and lead a popular audience sing-a-long. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $16 for Linden Place members, and $12 for Colt Circle Members and must be reserved in advance by calling the museum.
  • Award-winning author and story performer Mark Binder will share and sign copies of his new illustrated ebook, Cinderella Spinderella, at 5 pm at the Wooden Midshipman, 146 Water Street, Warren.
  • Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants at 416 Metacom Ave. and 467 Hope Street in Bristol and 670 Metacom Ave. and 621 Metacom Ave. in Warren, are participating tomorrow, Dec. 7, in the sale of reusable travel mugs as a fundraiser for Special Olympics Rhode Island. The restaurants will donate $1 from each purchase of the $2.49 mugs to Special Olympics. Mug-holders can then get 99-cent refills of hot and iced coffee after 2 pm each day through Feb. 28.
