Tree Ordinance Returns to Warren Town Council Agenda

Warren Town Council meetings tonight in Town Hall.

An ordinance on tree removal in Warren -- a somewhat contentious issue -- will be introduced at the mnthly Town Council meeting tonight in Town Hall.

The meeting starts at 7 pm in the Council Chamber. 

Discussion of the future of the former Social Security building on Metacom Avenue also is on the agenda for the meeting.

Another proposed tree ordinance -- a previous law was scuttled at a recent meeting -- is to delineate clear guidelines for removal of trees for utilities, the tree commission and warden, and Warren property owners. It also gives homeowners a potential tax incentive to save trees – not cut them down.
