Warren Man Suffers Head, Shoulder Injuries After Being Hit by Car

Robert Bento, 72, of Main Street, was struck near his home Wednesday night about 8:26 pm.

A well-known Warren man, 72, suffered head and shoulder injuries when he was hit by a car on Main Street not far from his home around 8:26 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Robert Bento, of 772 Main St., was struck by a car driven by Kim Guthas, 51, of Dahlonega, Ga. She had not been charged as of mid-day Thursday, said Warren Police Lt. Roland Brule. 

“It is still under investigation,” Brule said of the incident.

Investigators still have not spoken to Bento, he said. There is not a crosswalk in that area, he said.

Bento was conscious at the scene of the crash, Brule said. He was treated and transported by Warren EMTs to Rhode Island Hospital.

Bento is expected to be held for at least a couple of days with a concussion, bleeding on the brain, and a shoulder injury, according to his sister.
