Coventry Firefighters Battle House Fire on Windsor Park Drive (Video)

The fire broke out Sunday evening and caused substantial damage to a single-family ranch.

COVENTRY, RI—Coventry firefighters battled a fire that damaged a house on Windsor Park Drive on Sunday.

Firefighters from across Coventry responded to the two-alarm fire, which caused extensive fire, smoke and water damage to the house.

Crews were dispatched at around 6:45 p.m. and came upon heavy smoke when they arrived. Soon, flames began shooting out of the windows and firefighters worked aggressively to prevent a total catastrophe.

Firefighters dealt with limited manpower but managed to knock down the fire in less than an hour and the blaze was deemed under control by about 7:30 p.m. No engine from the Anthony Fire District could immediately respond as they had already responded to an emergency call. Coventry received mutual aid from neighboring districts while fighting the fire at 79 Windsor Park Drive.

There were no reports of any injuries.
