COVENTRY, RI — The public is invited to give input this week as the Coventry Police Department completes its accreditation process. On Wednesday, a team of assessors will visit the department as part of the process, looking into how it is run and managed.

The assessment is to ensure that the department meets the standard of excellence needed to earn the accreditation. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the public can offer input by calling 401-825-6310. Comments should be no longer than 10 minutes and should only concern the department's ability to meet the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission's standards. Comments can also be sent to the commission's executive director, Christine Crocker, by mail at PO Box 7877, Cumberland, by phone at 401-440-4352 or by email at crocker.riapc@cox.net.
