Coventry Resident Talks Financial Empowerment with General Treasurer Raimondo
Victoria Lomas of Coventry was one of 17 City Year Rhode Island Corps members to meet with General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo.

Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo recently spoke at City Year’s Basic Training Academy to Corps members, including Coventry resident, Victoria Lomas.
City Year members serve urban communities by partnering with public schools to mentor students who are at risk of dropping out. The organization has 25 locations throughout the United States, as well as two international affiliates in London and South Africa. City Year's long-term goals are to ensure that 80% of the students in the schools it serves reach 10th grade on track and on time, and to serve the majority of at-risk students in City Year communities, who account for two-thirds of the nation’s urban dropouts.
Raimondo urged members to take advantage of City Year’s new partnership with the Capital Good Fund’s Financial Coaching Corps and sign up for one-on-one sessions with a coach who can help members take charge of their own finances.
