9 New Members Appointed to Charter Review Commission

The Coventry Town Council appointed a nine-member board to review the Town Charter and submit any suggestions it may have for future amendments.

During Monday night's meeting, members of the Coventry Town Council appointed nine new members to the Town's Charter Review Commission.

Applicants for the Commission were provided to the town for review by both the Republican and Democratic Town Committees.

The Commission's role will be to review the Coventry Home Rule Charter, first adopted in 1973, which serves as the Town's guiding document and provides the framework for the form of government, defines the duties and powers of the branches of government, and gives the public a voice in how the Town will provide services.
