Providence Man Indicted for Alleged Rape in Coventry

COVENTRY, RI—A 43-year-old Providence man has been indicted on rape charges for the alleged assault of a woman in Coventry last year.
The Kent County Grand Jury reported out an indictment on Tuesday charging Jose Montalvan, of 1010 Narragansett Blvd., Providence, with one count of first degree sexual assault for the alleged July 19, 2015 incident.
Coventry police investigated the assault, arresting Montalvan in December. He is due to return to court on Sept. 16 for arraignment in Superior Court and remains free on surety bail.
