Police Log: Beef Tenderloin, Shrimp & A Big UPS Bill
Information about the following incidents was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, July 18
7:58 a.m. – A maintenance worker at St. Francis de Sales Church on School Street told police a spotlight had been ripped from the ground and smashed on the walkway. The responding officer said police would make more frequent checks on the church.
9:36 a.m. – A North Kingstown woman told police her UPS business account had been targeted by Craig's List scammers, to the tune of $7,000. By the time the woman notified UPS, the delivery company was already monitoring her account.

2:47 p.m. – An employee from Dave's Marketplace on Gate Road told police a man who left in a car registered to someone in East Greenwich shoplifted beef tenderloin and frozen shrimp worth a total of $272. Two staff members saw the man leave and got his car's license number.
2:38 p.m. – Narragansett police arrested David R. Grossi, 46, of Post Road, on a warrant from NK police for domestic breaking and entering – a felony – domestic assault, and domestic disorderly conduct. Grossi's ex-girlfriend had reported the assault to the police station to report an assault a few hours earlier. The woman told police Grossi forced his way into her apartment, head-butted her and punched her. The woman had numerous visible facial injuries, including two black eyes. Based on a variety of information, police issued the warrant.

8:17 p.m. – Police arrested Jameel A. Dudley, 23, of Admiral Street in Providence, on a bench warrant after police saw him walking near Yorktown and Hornet roads and recognized him. Routine checks turned up the warrant. He was processed at the station and taken to the ACI.
9:24 p.m. – Police arrested Michelle Lee Canfield, 42, of Post Road, for violating a no-contact order against her ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend was able to provide police with a number of text messages and voice mails from Canfield after the no-contact order was in place.
10:40 p.m. – Police arrested Jonathan Patrick Toolin, 21, of King Phillip Circle, for larceny over $1,500 – a felony – a high-speed pursuit, and driving with an expired license, after police heard about a stolen vehicle. The stolen vehicle was described as a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Police found Toolin later at a residence on King Phillip Circle. He was to be held overnight and taken to court in the morning.
Friday, July 19
3:26 a.m. – Police noticed a broken window on the east side of Davisville Elementary School during a routine check. The hole in the window was small and there were no signs of forced entry.
9:38 a.m. – Police arrested Jason Williams, 32, of State Street, on a bench warrant for failing to appear after the car he was traveling in was stopped because it bore no inspection sticker. The driver, Ryan Matthew Bruskie, 27, of Lafayette Road, was also arrested because his license was suspended. Both men were taken into custody.
