Church In Providence Catches Fire
Providence firefighters battle flames at Impact Center Providence Church, which caught fire Wednesday morning.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence church caught fire on Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.
Fire officials said the fire was at Impact Center Providence Church at 353 Elmwood Avenue, and crews were working to knock down the flames.
Providence Fire Chief Derek Silva said the fire required 47 firefighters, and the bulk of the fire had been extinguished by 4:45 p.m. Firefighters were still on scene into the evening, ensuring the scene was safe.

"This incident is expected to be prolonged, and for the safety of everyone, we kindly request that you please avoid the area," Silva said.
No injuries were reported.
