Providence Man Admits To Trafficking Fentanyl-Laced Drugs
Toxicology reports show seized drugs included 29.4 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and xylazine.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man admitted in federal court he was trafficking drugs laced with fentanyl.
Montrell Dennis, 34, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Dennis was arrested on May 3, 2024, after authorities searched his home and found several plastic baggies containing fentanyl and an assortment of other drugs., prosecutors said. According to toxicology reports, seized drugs included 29.4 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and xylazine, and 1.37 gram of crack cocaine. Prosecutors said authorities also seized digital scales, several phones, and two guns.

Dennis is scheduled to be sentenced on April 22.
