Providence Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Child Several Times

Prosecutors say Kevin Frias, 42, of Providence, will serve 25 years in prison for molesting a girl under the age of 14.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was sentenced to 25 years in state prison after prosecutors proved he repeatedly molested a child, Attorney General Peter Neronha said Tuesday.

Kevin Frias, 42, was sentenced Thursday and also must serve 50 years of probation, register as a sex offender, attend sex offender counseling, and be subject to lifetime GPS monitoring. On Oct. 7, 2024, a jury found Frias guilty of two counts of first-degree child molestation and three counts of second-degree child molestation.

"This defendant received a significant sentence for his crimes because this victim came forward and told her story, exhibiting extraordinary bravery in the process," Neronha said. "Fostering a supportive environment for victims is paramount to keeping our community safe [from] perpetrators of sexual violence. My thanks to the Providence Police Department for their partnership on this difficult case."
