SPD Lot Closed Tuesday - The parking lot at SPD Headquarters will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 24 for construction. There will be No V.I.N. checks that day.
Planning Board Thursday - The Smithfield Planning Board meets Thursday at Town Hall, 64 Farnum Pike, 7:30 p.m. They'll discuss two projects: A minor subdivision on Whipple Road and Stillwaters Place, a 32-unit project on 4 acres.
Taste for charity Thursday - "A taste of...", a fundraiser for the Smithfield Senior Center at the Center, 1 Wm. Hawkins Trail Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. For $20, folks will sample food and drink from local restaurants. Tickets, which are limited, are available at the Center. Call 401-949-4590.
Museum Day Saturday - The Smith-Appleby House Museum will participate in “Museum Day Live!” on Sept. 28, the annual Smithsonian magazine event where participating museums across the country open their doors — for free admission — to anyone presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For Museum Day Live! information, visit the website. Visitors without a Museum Day Live! ticket, are welcome at the regular admission of $5 per adult. Children are free.
