More than 7,600 people turned out Sunday to participate in the 24th annual CVS Caremark Downtown 5K – including Smithfield students in the 3K High School Inspirational event.
The event, sponsored by Tufts Health Plan, drew about 1,400 students from the region. Smithfield Patch caught up with a group from Smithfield High School just before their run, dressed smartly in ties and boxers, likely a strategically wise move, as the sun began to shine in earnest just as they were called to the starting line.
