Smithfield Police Log July 24 to 26: ID Theft, Stolen Scrap

Wednesday, July 24:
- Patrol Ofc. Lucas L. Cruse responded to 109 Farnum Pike for a report of larceny from a vehicle belonging to a 42-year-old resident.
- Patrol Ofc. Paul J. Gorman spoke with James Isherwood, 40, of 71 Wolf Hill Road, who reported that his identity had been used by someone else to purchase a cell phone.
- Patrol Ofc. David M. Walsh responded to 151 Douglas Pike for an accident with no reported injuries.
- Patrol Ofc. Gorman took a report of an alleged domestic assault from a 49-year-old male resident of Sanderson Road.
- Patrol Ofc. Thomas J. Coleman responded to Bryant University for a report of the apparent theft of $51 in cash and a $250 pair of headphones.
- Patrol Ofc. Jeffrey A. Scott investigated the apparent theft of tires and rims from a vehicle at Twin River Auto.
- Patrol Ofc. Jason A. Corser arrested Rober Rinn, 23, on a bench warrant issued by Third District Court for failure to appear for a payment review stemming from a charge of violating a protective order brought by Cranston Police in May, 2011.
- Patrol Ofc. Joseph Marcello arrested Vincent Paolino, 18, on a bench warrant issued by Third District Court for failure to appear at a pre-trial hearing on a change of larceny under $1,500 brought by Smithfield Police. At a hearing on July 30, Judge Pamela Woodcock-Pfeiffer ordered Paolino to pay restitution and court costs of $93.50.
- Patrol Ofc. Justin E. Ferreira arrested Patrice Carey, 51, on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
Patrol Ofc. Ryan Perry responded to Powder Mill Creamery, 777 Putnam Pike, for a report of breaking and entering.
Patrol Ofc. Peter J. DiMarco responded to a hit and run at Putnam Pike and Greenville Ave. Witnesses described the vehicle as a red Audi.
Patrol Ofc. Scott Hopkins took a report of a theft of scrap metal from AGI Construction, 34 Appian Way. The stolen metal is valued at several thousand dollars.
Patrol Ofc. DiMarco filed a report of credit card fraud from an Arrow Head Trail resident, to be sent to the credit card company.
Patrol Ofc. Coleman arrested Sean Moodie, 28, on two counts of faking a prescription and one count of possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, all felonies. At a July 29 hearing, Moddie posted bail and was released until a scheduled Oct. 1 hearing in Third District Court.
