Smithfield Police Log: Suspicious Activity on Domin Avenue, Foreclosure Dispute

The following information was supplied by the Smithfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction:

Editor's note: The following is a partial account of the incidents Smithfield Police responded to during Sept. 9 - 10:

Monday, Sept. 9:

  • At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to Russel Lane at Green Avenue for a report of people going door to door selling cleaning products without proper permits.
  • At about 11:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to a Domin Avenue residence for a report of suspicious activity. A resident reported two men riding dark colored mountain bicycles pulled into his back yard and were looking into his car.
  • At about 11:45 p.m, Smithfield Police arrested Jair Gutierrez, 30 for failing to appear for arraignment in 2010 on a suspended license charge.
Monday, Sept. 9:
  • At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police arrested Alicia McCreery, 25, on a warrant for failing to appear on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
  • At about 3:45 p.m, Smithfield Police responded for a dispute between Constable Paul Hughes and a man over his foreclosed home at 71 Austin Ave.
