Suspect in CVS Theft Sent to ACI
Raymond L. Ellinwood, 42, of Warwick, admitted to violating probation on two earlier charges.

A Warwick man suspected of robbing the CVS store on Putnam Pike was ordered held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston for violating probation set in two other cases.
According to online court records, Raymond L. Ellinwood, 42, admitted on July 1 to violating the terms of probation set following his Jan. 8 no-contest plea to a charge of misdemeanor shoplifting brought by Warwick Police.
Ellinwood also pleaded no contest to a charge of shellfishing at night brought by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management on Jan. 8, and at the recent court hearing, also admitted to violating probation set in that case.
Joseph Terence Houlihan Jr. sentenced Ellinwood to 60 days in prison for each violation, to be served concurrently at the Minimum Security unit.
Smithfield Police allege that Ellinwood and Desiree Ann Ellinwood, 25, stole about $200 in perfume and other items from the Apple Valley CVS on June 10.
A worker at the store provided police with a surveillance video, and officers later arrested the pair.
Raymond Ellinwood is next due in court on Aug. 30 on the Smithfield charges of felony larceny and conspiracy. He is also due for a hearing on Aug. 20 in a separate case of felony larceny and conspiracy brought by Cranston Police.
