Derrick Pfeiler, 31, of Warren, faces domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct charges after a Smithfield Police officer arrested him on May 1 at about 1 p.m.
According to police reports, Patrol Ofc. Michael Proulx went to the Alpine Hotel to investigate a report of an assault.
When he arrived, Proulx wrote, he found Pfeiler walking away from a nearby bus stop, where he also saw a woman sitting and crying.
