Where Do I Find the Smithfield School Calendar?

Now that August has begun, it's time to really start thinking about the start of the school year in Smithfield — this year, it's scheduled for Aug. 27.

The district has posted summer reading lists online for students to use in getting ready for the new school year — so get to the library if you haven't yet.

And if your student is new to the Smithfield district, use these new student registration guidelines.

It's also time to start planning for holidays, winter break, and spring vacations — but you can't do that without the school calendar, right?

Lucky for you, Smithfield Patch has the information you need about the Smithfield school calendar for 2013-14. [link goes to .pdf document]

Following the first four days of classes, Labor Day falls on Monday, Sept. 2. Then, there are no holidays until Columbus Day, Oct. 14.

After Veteran's Day on Nov. 11, Thanksgiving break is Nov. 28 and 29, with the 27th a scheduled Professional Development day.

It's another short holiday break this year, with Dec. 23 to Jan. 1, 2014 the scheduled vacation week.

This year's winter recess is Feb. 17 to 21, with spring recess scheduled for Apr. 21-25. [Good Friday falls on Apr. 18.]

Then, finally, the school year ends on or about June 13, depending on snow days.

If you've got a senior at Smithfield High School this year, their last day of school is June 2, with graduation scheduled for June 10.
