A.C. Flora, Dreher Among Nation's 'Most Challenging' High Schools

A.C. Flora High is ranked 452 and Dreher High is ranked 1,128 out of the nearly 30,000 schools nationwide.

A.C. Flora High and Dreher High are two of the nation's most challenging high schools, according to the Washington Post. 

A.C. Flora was ranked 452 out of the nearly 30,000 schools nationwide, while Dreher High was ranked 1,128.

The Washington Post rates schools using an index formula. They divide the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year by the number of seniors who graduated that year to come up with a ratio.

Three other schools in the Midlands made the list — two in Richland-Lexington District 5 and one in Richland Two. Only 14 schools in South Carolina made the list.
