
Richland County School District One Student Support Services is offering free online courses to educate parents. Courses include:
- Bullying: Recognition & Response
- Dating Violence: Identification and Prevention
- Homeless Students: Awareness and Understanding
- Online Safety Primer: What Every Educator Needs to Know
- Online Safety: Cyberbullying
- Online Safety: Predators
- Student Drug & Alcohol Abuse
- Youth Suicide: Awareness and Prevention
Instructions to register:

- Go to the Parent Academy Courses page on Richland One's website.
- You will be asked to register. Please complete the online form for registration. (If your desired username comes up unavailable, select another. Maybe instead of "j" for Jane, use "ja" and then your last name. For example Jane Doe could use "jadoe" for her username if jdoe is unavailable.)
- Select the school your child attends.
- Optional: Complete your e-mail address.
- Click register.
- Message will appear: Congratulations (your name). You have been registered as (your username). Please continue to the training page. Click on training page.
- Please take the first course according to the beginning letter of your last name:
A - C = Course #1: Bullying: Recognition & Response (Full Course)

G - I = Course #3: Homeless Students: Awareness and Understanding (Full Course)
J - L = Course #4: Online Safety Primer: What Every Educator Needs to Know (Full course)
M - O = Course #5: Online Safety: Cyberbullying (Full Course)
P - S = Course #6: Online Safety: Predators (Full Course)
T - V = Course #7: Student Drug & Alcohol Abuse (Full Course)
W - Z = Course #8: Youth Suicide: Awareness and Prevention (Full Course)
Once you have completed the first course, feel free to select other courses of your choice. Click on a specific course and follow the instructions. Once you're registered, you can click on the "Safe Schools Training" image at the top of the register page to go straight to the Richland One Safe Schools login page.
