
Richland County is offering neighborhood organizations the chance to win a $1,500 matching grant.
The Neighborhood Improvement Program is accepting applications for the grant through March 15.
Homeowners' associations, property owners' associations and neighborhood organizations can apply, but they must match the amount awarded in cash or volunteer hours.

The money can be used for projects such as membership drives, flyers, newslettters, after-school tutoring, a community garden, a sports camp or crime prevention.
An optional training session will be held Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. in council chambers, 2020 Hampton St.
