The three vehicles were traveling close behind each other on the interstate, troopers said.
The first vehicle, driven by Kimberly Wiggins, 48, struck Davis.
Troopers say Cheryl Livavdais, 63, and Tensha Wells, 35, struck Davis the second and third times, respectively.
An exam performed Thursday showed that Davis died from injuries sustained in the incident, according to the release.
The incident remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
