Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers continue to investigate a fatal drug overdose at Latimer Manor in North Columbia.

After dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call, officers were sent to 100 Lorick Circle shortly after 5:00 a.m. on February 25, 2022.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a female deceased inside an apartment. Three males were also located at the complex and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Narcotics evidence collected by CPD officers at the scene will be tested.

After the discovery, an additional female was detained for questioning by CPD officers. Organized Crime and Narcotics (OCN) officers have charged 35-year-old Lakeysha Augustus with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Additional charges are pending against Augustus.
In addition to communicating with the Latimer Manor Apartments management and the Columbia Housing Authority, CPD officers distributed a public safety awareness flyer to residents.
