Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators are following leads in a fatal shooting that occurred last week.

On November 23, 2021, officers responded to 1155 Clemson Frontage Road (Companion at the Palms) after a resident called 9-1-1.  When officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old male victim with critical injuries outside of the apartment complex. He was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased on November 29, 2021.  CPD investigators have conducted interviews and collected evidence from the scene. Based on what is known at this time, it appears that the shooting was an isolated incident.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office is assisting CPD with the investigation.
