Columbia Man Sues Founders of Mobile App

Frank Reginald Brown IV says he came up with the idea for the mobile app Snapchat, a Los Angeles-based company.

A Columbia man who claims he came up with the idea for the popular mobile app Snapchat is suing the founders of the company, the LA Times reports

The app allows users to send pictures and videos to friends that disappear shortly after they open them. 

Frank Reginald Brown IV, 23, says he was working with two of his colleagues, Bobby Murphy and Evan Spiegel, at Stanford in 2011 to develop Snapchat, according to the LA Times. Brown alleges that Murphy and Spiegel, now co-founders of the company, shut him out after they had a falling-out that summer.

Brown is asking for his rights to be restored and for damages, according to the report.
