Deputies Arrest Man After Stabbing Two Men

A man was arrested after stabbing two men who tried to stop a domestic dispute Saturday morning.

Richland County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested a man they say stabbed two men who tried to stop a domestic dispute at an apartment near Broad River Road.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute call around 1 a.m. Saturday at an apartment located at 1043 Barmettler Place, according to Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesman Curtis Wilson.

Wilson said the suspect was in a physical altercation with a female when two men attempted to stop the dispute.

The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old James Eberhart, stabbed both men in the upper bodies.

One of the men received non-life threatening injuries, Wilson said. The other victim was taken to Palmetto Health Richland. His condition was unknown.

Eberhart is charged with two counts of attmepted murder and one count of criminal domestic violence. He is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
