Deputies Charge 2 Teens in Burglary at Wheels, Rims Store

The burglary happened around 2:15 a.m. Friday.

Richland County deputies arrested two teens early Friday morning who they say broke into a business near Bluff Road and stole electronics and tools. 

Christopher Lee Irick, 18, and Kristopher Shultz, 19, are both charged with burglary and larceny.

Deputies say the two cut the locks on gates at the back of Carolina Rims and Wheels at 1550 Old Dairy Drive around 2:15 a.m. They also kicked in a front window of the business, deputies say. The damage to the business was estimated at $725.

They also took an HP mini computer, an HP Compaq Mini computer, a powertool wrench and a set of 10 War-Lok air brake locks.

Deputies were responding to the burglary when they saw a vehicle matching the description given to dispatch, according to the sheriff's department. The deputies stopped the car at Rosewood Drive and Bluff Road and arrested Irick and Shultz.

They were both booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
