Deputies Seize Cash, Drugs, Gambling Machine from Crush Strip Club

Crush Gentlemen's Club, a topless club on River Drive, was raided Wednesday night. Police found money, drugs and illegal gambling machines.

Richland County deputies and State Law Enforcement Division agents raided Crush Gentlemen's Club, a strip club on River Drive, after repeated community complaints and two recent shootings.

Deputies seized $12,000, video gambling machine, marijuana and 54 boxes of alcohol, according to a news release. 

Deputies also arrested three people and cited Crush for sales of alcohol without a license and operating a business without a license.

Those arrested are:

  • Alicia Baker, 27, charged with simple possession of marijuana
  • Neely D. Smith Jr., 54, charged with simple possession of marijuana
  • Patricia M Rock 39, bartender charged in connection with liquor violations

Sheriff Leon Lott said in the release that his department has responded to more than 142 incidents since January 2010.

Such incidents included more than 40 aggravated assaults and weapons violations, and more than 15 liquor and drug violations.

Most recently, police responded to an incident where two people were injured after a shooting. The week before that, someone shot several vehicles but no one was injured. 

Fifth Circuit Solicitor Dan Johnson said in the release his office responded to written complaints about Club Crush from residents in the Earlewood neighborhood earlier this week. 

Both Lott and Johnson said they want the club to be shut down.
