Richland County Recycling Event

Richland County Solid Waste is Celebrating Earth Day by hosting a first ever regional recycling event on Thursday, April 26 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the WLTX Studios (6027 Garner’s Ferry Road).  

The event will be open to Richland, Lexington, Kershaw and Fairfield County residents and the following items will be accepted: 

  • Tires
  • Computers
  • Televisions
  • Household electronics
  • Microwave ovens
  • Scrap metal
  • Paper documents for shredding

The county will not be collecting commercial materials, refrigerators or air conditioners.

“Make the Switch”– During the event, residents will also be able to take part in the Richland County Light bulb exchange program. Citizens can exchange four regular household bulbs for four energy efficient Compact Fluorescent Bulbs.  The limit is 4 per person.
