Officers Seize $22,000 in Marijuana, Arrest 2 Men
The men are accused of trafficking the marijuana from another state to Columbia.
Columbia Police arrested two men Thursday who they say trafficked $22,000 in marijuana to Columbia.
John Desmond Kelly, 27, and Harvey Jai Johnson, 29, are accused of receiving a delivery of marijuana from another state Thursday and then transporting it in a car, according to police. Both men were at an apartment in Arrington Apartments on Carnegie Street when the package arrived.
Investigators had received tips about drug activity at the apartment, according to police.

Police conducted a traffic stop of the men's vehicle on Two Notch Road, according to the police department. Officer could smell a strong odor of raw and burnt marijuana coming from the car.
Officers found 11 pounds of marijuana in the car, according to the police department. They also seized $5,000 in cash.

Kelly and Johnson were charged with trafficking marijuana and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
