Paramedic Charged with Illegally Obtaining Prescription Medicine
The man asked a woman to pick up the prescription in someone else's name, according to police.

Columbia Police arrested a paramedic who they say illegally obtained prescription medicine.
Robert Allen Brazell, 42, is accused fraudulently obtaining a prescription for Ativan, a schedule II controlled substance, from the pharmacy at Walmart on Bush River Road on March 1.
Police say Brazell asked a woman in the parking lot to pick up the prescription in someone else's name. The woman picked up the prescription and gave it to Brazell, according to police.

The woman won't be charged in the case since she is considered a victim, according to the police department.
Brazell was working as a certified paramedic for Vital Care Emergency Services at the time of the incident, according to the police department.

He is charged with obtaining prescription drugs by fraud and was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
