Police: Men Trafficked $40,000 in Marijuana to Columbia
Police say the two men brought the drugs from Atlanta on a commercial bus.
Two men are in jail after police say they trafficked $40,000 worth of marijuana from Atlanta to Columbia.
Antonie Terrell Parker, 26, and Roger Rivers, 27, are both charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of a pistol during commission of a violent crime. Parker is also charged with transporting narcotics in a motor vehicle.
The Columbia Police Department received information that drugs were being transported by a commercial bus Wednesday from Atlanta to Columbia.

Police say Parker picked up Rivers at the Greyhound bus station on Gervais Street. Police then pulled them over on Devine Street and found more than 24 pounds of marijuana worth about $40,000 in a suitcase.
A trained narcotics K9 officer helped locate the marijuana, which was packaged in several layers of plastic wrap.

Officers also located and seized two, 40-caliber pistols and $1,000 in cash.
Parker and Rivers were booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
