Police Search for 3 Missing After Columbia Funeral

The group planned to travel on I-20 to Shreveport, La., on Jan. 7 and haven't been heard from since. One of the three may need medications.

The Columbia Police Department is trying to locate three people who went missing after attending a funeral in Columbia earlier this month. 

On Jan. 4, Brady S. Brown, 49, his 68-year-old uncle Eddie Lee Cobb, Jr., and family friend Ella Williams, 52, were in Columbia to attend a funeral, according to a news release. 

Police said the three left Columbia on Jan. 7 in a 2006 beige or gold Dodge Stratus, which had paper tags.

The group had planned to travel on Interstate 20 to Shreveport, La. Family members haven't heard from or seen the group since the funeral. Calls made by family members to a cell phone were unsuccessful, police said, with calls going straight to voice mail. 

Police say the last known communication was made from a cell phone belonging to one of the three on Jan. 7 near Birmingham, Ala.

Investigators say Williams may be in need of medications. 

Columbia Police have contacted agencies in the following states: Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
