Police Search for Bank Robbery Suspect

Police say this man who was caught on surveillance robbed a bank on Garners Ferry Road Monday.

Columbia Police are looking for a man who they say robbed a bank on Garners Ferry Road Monday afternoon.

The man entered the First Citizens Bank and Trust at 7366 Garners Ferry Road around 12:30 p.m. and demanded money from a teller, according to the Columbia Police Department. He did not threaten the teller with a weapon or mention a weapon.

The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, police say.

No one was harmed. 

The man, who was caught on surveillance, is described as a white male, with a pointy nose, possibly between 30 and 40 years old, and standing 5 feet 8 inches tall. He is possibly 225-250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light gray hoodie and a USC Gamecock baseball cap.

Witnesses told investigators that he got into an older-model silver 4-door car and left the scene.
