Update: Kidnapping Suspect Found Dead in Calhoun County
Police are looking for a man who they say abducted a woman Tuesday.

Update, 6:34 p.m.: A man wanted by Columbia Police in a kidnapping investigation was found dead Wednesday afternoon in Calhoun County, according to reports.
James Murphy Brigman Jr., 40, was found dead in his vehicle in a wooded area near St. Matthews, according to a report from WIS. The coroner said he died from a gunshot wound.

Columbia Police issued arrest warrants for Brigman Wednesday after they say he kidnapped a female acquaintance from a parking lot on Greystone Boulevard.
The woman was later found in Calhoun County and taken to the hospital.

Original story, 1:41 p.m.: Columbia Police are looking for a man who they say abducted a woman from a parking lot on Greystone Boulevard Tuesday evening.
Police issued arrest warrants Wednesday for James Murphy Brigman Jr., 40, who they say kidnapped a female acquaintance from the 200 block of Greystone Boulevard around 5 p.m.
The woman's coworkers found some of her belongings scattered in the parking lot and called police.
She was found in Calhoun County that same evening and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police say Brigman has a history of criminal domestic violence and harassment.
He was last seen driving a red 2002 Chevy Colorado with South Carolina tag IUP 375. The truck also has a large University of Georgia sticker on the rear.
