Reader Wants Accused Dialysis-Tamperer Behind Bars

A judge has set a $525,000 bond for a man who authorities say poured bleach into the water tanks of a kidney dialysis machine in West Columbia as revenge against his employer.

Forty-nine-year-old Donald Foster III on Thursday asked the judge to let him out of jail because he is a single parent with a 5-year-old daughter. Foster says the incident was a misunderstanding.

Prosecutors had asked that no bond be set.

Foster was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder and second-degree burglary.

Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says patients could have died if clinic workers hadn't found the bleach in the water.

I understand this man is only accused- But my sister goes to this clinic 3 times a week- She personally has had a reported to staff problem with this man- Now she must worry if he , & he most likely will- Get out of jail- What he might try or in fact do next- Anger at the staff & take it out on these patients? My sister is dealing with the side effects of chemo & radiaction for Lymphoma- & now this? I say he is a danger to these patients! keep him in jail- He should have thought about his dependent daughter before his suspect action!
