S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley's Ethics Hearing To Begin Thursday

The S.C. House Ethics Committee will determine if Haley illegally lobbied for her employers while she was a lawmaker.

S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley's ethics hearing will begin on Thursday to determine if the first female to head the state illegally lobbied for her employers while she was a lawmaker.

The Ethics Committee has subpoenaed 11 corporate executives, lobbyists and former government officials for the hearing, as well as documents, according to The State newspaper.

The governor has been accused of lobbying illegally for Lexington Medical Center and Wilbur Smith Associates while she served in the House. Haley earned $110,000 annually as a fundraiser for the hospital, and earned $42,500 for her work as a consultant for Wilbur Smith.
