Walter C. Watkins, 42, died from a stab wound to his upper body on Wednesday morning.
Richland County sheriff's deputies responded to a call at 203 Connie Drive in Columbia at 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Watkins was taken to Palmetto Richland Memorial but died in surgery.
Investigators are questioning to determine who was responsible for the stabbing.
