Surveillance Footage Shows Suspect Leaving Crime

The suspect is a black male, about 5-foot- 4 or 5-foot-6, 130 to 140 pounds wearing dark jeans and a gray hoodie covering his head, a dark undershirt, and a white 'do-rag' wrapped around his face.

Surveillance video released by the Columbia Police shows a man wanted for armed robbery. 

The man fleeing the scene is wanted in connection to an incident early Monday morning at the S Mart on Greystone Blvd.

The suspect is seen running into a vehicle that had been waiting outside of the store, a release said. He got away with a register drawer full of cash.

Several witnesses said the suspect entered the business and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the clerk before demanding money from the register, the release said.

A victim told investigators that the man pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. The victim said she recalls hearing a click.

The suspect is seen getting into a black, older-model Jeep Cherokee with paper tags. The Jeep was headed towards Stoneridge Drive.
