Richland Mall has been struggling for years to bring retailers to its Forest Drive location, despite its location in an affluent residential area, according to The State.

The mall's unusual layout and parking garage are detering possible tenants who choose to locate in other areas where they're more visible, Columbia developer Alan Kahn told The State. Kahn has been trying to recruit retailers to the mall.
